November Letter From The Board of Directors
Greetings Maine Conference!
Your board met on Saturday November 19th from 9am-12pm at the Maine Conference office. During this time, we reviewed the 2022 annual meeting, received written and some verbal updates from staff, discussed the most recent budget numbers, and spent a bit of time team building with Marissa.
Items of note from the meeting: the board voted on the date and location of the 2023 annual meeting. It will be held, assuming it is safe to do so, as hybrid meeting, with the physical location at Pilgrim Lodge. The date for annual meeting is October 21. Specific details will be shared as they develop. If you are interested in helping the board in planning, please reach out to me at my email email@example.com.
The Maine Ministerial Mission Society has financial aid for any authorized pastor in the Maine Conference. If you find that you, or someone you know, needs assistance, please contact Marissa for a confidential conversation.
Reminder that we have a special conference meeting via ZOOM on Sunday December 4th at 2pm. During this gathering, we are voting on the long form of the clergy compensation guidelines.
Speaking on behalf of my colleagues on the board, while Advent and Christmas remind us there is a promise of the divine in humanity, many folks struggle during the Holy-day season. Please know we care about you and reach out if you or a loved one need help: https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/about/contact/hotlines.
May the love of God wrap you in warmth during these cold days!
Your sibling in Christ,
