A Letter from Maine Conference Board of Directors
Having met February 13th, The Maine Conference Board of Directors wishes to express with sadness the acceptance of the resignation of Associate Conference Minister, The Rev. Darren Morgan, shared with the Conference via email February 6th and 11th and available here. Reverend Morgan submitted his resignation to our Conference Minister, The Rev. Deborah Blood, as well our board Chair and Vice-Chair, on February 5, and all quickly expressed to him our gratitude for his service to our Conference.
Over 12 years, Darren has provided faithful and meaningful service to our conference, its congregations, and the wider church. We owe him our gratitude and prayers for the future thriving of his ministry and walk in Christ. We are confident that his new endeavors will find in him a blessed addition of a servant’s heart, just as we have experienced him here with us. As Deborah referenced in her letter, we will most certainly be planning an opportunity to gather with, bless, and give thanks for Darren and his service with us all.
The board, in conjunction with Rev. Blood, is working toward a smooth transition involving the addition of interim or bridge staff while we continue our personnel-related work in developing a staffing plan and completing performance reviews. We appreciate your prayers and support for Rev. Morgan and for our Maine Conference.
The Board of Directors,
Maine Conference, United Church of Christ
