July 14-July
17, 2008 Woodfords Church, Portland
Sponsored by the United Church of Christ Musicians Association
This fourday conference will be based at the Woodfords Congregational
Church in Portland with the housing in area
hotels. The week will be full of wonderful educational opportunities, no matter
what your role may be in church music. Whether you are clergy, an organist,
youth or adult choir director, or even a choir member, there will be many educational
opportunities available for all.
Workshops include Organ Repertoire, an Organ Masterclass, Beginning and Advanced
Handbell instruction, Building your Choir, Vocal Techniques and Choral Reading
sessions. Topics of discussion will include the role of the musician, working
with your church committees, congregation and pastors, and the sharing and reading
of compositions by fellow musician.
Along with several opportunities for worship during the week, the conference
will continue the UCCMA tradition of
a closing worship service with all attendees participating in a Conference vocal
or bell choir. Come join us and discover
that you are not alone in your vocation, and have a wonderful place to network
and meet clergy and musicians.
The outstanding leadership for the conference will include Michael Kemp, Rev.
Victoria Sirota, Rev. Bernard Wilson, Peter Neidmann, Daniel Moore, Peter Krasinksi
and Patricia Snyder.
