Team Members responsibility before leaving

 

Current immunizations

 

Hep A & B

 

Tetanus

 

Typhoid – or oral

 

Malaria pills – need to take 1 week prior to going, during and for 4 weeks upon return

 

Cipro – all team members should bring their own supply of cipro – they can get a prescription from PCP, in case they pick up a GI bacteria

 

Acidophilus – one month prior to leaving they can eat yogurt with active cultures or take a capsule daily

 

Imodium

 

Their own prescription drugs

 

If own epi-pen – they should bring

 

Electrolyte powder – like gator aid – must be instructed that more is not better

 

Whatever they feel they will need for over the counter

 

Sunscreen

 

Hand sanitizer – small one for pocket, large to refill

 

This being said I would bring with you:

A duffle bag with the following

 

Ibuprofen

Benedryl

Tylenol

Sunscreen

Insect repellent

Rubbing alcohol – great to rub down legs if get bug bites

Cotton balls

Dressings, 4x4’s 2x2’s, gloves, bandages, tape

Antibiotic cream

We used a lot of saline wash

Tweezers – splinters

Thermometer

Blood pressure cuff, stethoscope

Something for a splint

Tourniquet

Ace wraps

Hand sanitizer

Pepto bismol tablets
