“Anointed to bring good news” – that was the mission of Christ, and that is the call of the church – the body of Christ – in this time and place.

The theme of this year’s Annual Meeting of the Maine Conference of the United Church of Christ is It’s Who We Are, and it will be a Spirit-filled celebration of the many and varied ministries that bring gospel good news to our churches, our communities, and the world.

In the Maine Conference we are local churches, associations, commissions and committees. We are Pilgrim Lodge and Rockcraft Retreat Center. We are the Resource Center, educational programs, and retreats. We are the work for peace and justice. We are support networks and resources for churches, clergy and those on the path to ministry. We are the State Youth Council and the Youth Ministry Advisory Team. We are the Honduras Partnership and an ecumenical partner. We will celebrate these ministries – and so much more – acknowledging with gratitude that they are made possible by Our Church’s Wider Mission (OCWM) funding.

So come and join in the celebration of who we are – anointed to bring good news!
