Heart-to-Heart Kids Kit

Church World Service and Your Annual Meeting Planning Committee invites all who are coming to Annual Meeting to please help us supply Heart-to-Heart Kids Kits for children.

The Heart-to-Heart Kids Kit recognizes that even as faces must be washed and bellies must be fed, laughter must be heard as well. To assemble a Kids Kit we will need the following items. These items are readily and inexpensively available through your local discount stores, (ie. Wal-Mart, Target, Mardens, Renys), your local dollar store or Oriental Trading mail order. We have divided the list throughout our Ten Associations. Please bring the item(s) for your Association. Each kit contains one of each item except for the pencils which each kit needs six (6). Monetary donations will be accepted for processing/shipping charges, which is $3.00 per Kit. During the Church World Service workshop and any free time, people will be encouraged to put these kits together.

- Large eraser
- 30-centimeter ruler (12”)

Cumberland
- 6” x 9” non-spiral bound pad of regular or construction paper (60-100 sheets)
- Slinky (or slinky junior)
- Large eraser

Franklin
- Soft small ball (3 for $1 @ Wal-Mart)

Kennebec Valley
  - Harmonica, or other small musical instrument (plastic)

Hancock-Waldo
  - Toothbrush ($ store)
  - Tube of toothpaste (4-7 ounces)

Lincoln
  - Yo-yo
  - Pencil sharpener
  - New pencils with erasers

Oxford Union
  - Box of 24 crayons
  - Pair of blunt child’s scissors

Penobscot-Piscataquis
  - 7-foot child’s jump rope
  - Comb

Washington
  - Comb
  - New pencils with erasers

York
  - Rubbermaid® Clear Impressions shoebox with lid, 6.5 qt., or other flexible clear
      plastic 6.5 qt. shoebox with lid
  - Small stuffed bear (Wal-Mart has these for $ .88)
  - 30-centimeter ruler (12”)
