Office by next Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in order to be considered for presentation
at this year’s Annual Meeting. Please send resolutions to conference@maineucc.org.
2. I know that fall seems very far away, but it’s sneaking up on us quickly.
Fall means Annual Meeting, and it will be here before you know it. The Maine
Conference Annual Meeting will be held on September 28 – 30, 2007 at the
Grand Resort at Sunday River in Bethel. Information about our Keynote Speakers,
workshops, meals and registration is all posted on the website at www.maineucc.org
Please download the information for your delegates and get your registrations
sent in to the Conference Office. Any questions, please contact Sue Stevens
at suestevens@maineucc.org
3. Our Conference Moderator, Denise Goodman, has written an inspiring account
of her trip to General Synod 26 in Hartford. Be sure to take a minute to read
it at www.maineucc.org/moderatormessage/frontpage.htm
4. The Pilgrim Lodge is asking for your help. Due to cancellations from some
of their male counselors, Matt and Jen Hayden, deans for Celebrate Your Song,
are desperate for male counselors. If you would love to spend the week of August
11-18 at Pilgrim Lodge, working with 4th and 5th grade kids, please contact
Matt at mhayden207@hotmail.com, or 207-329-1583. Thank you so much.
5. The Maine State Youth Council would like to announce that they have extended
their Advisor search. State Youth Council (SYC) is looking to add a female clergy
advisor to it's team. The new advisor should be a clergy member in good standing
with the Maine Conference UCC. Below is a link to the SYC Advisor page. There
you will find more information about what is involved in the Advisor position,
and a downloadable application packet. If you're interested in helping the SYC,
please download the application packet and return it as soon as possible. http://mainesyc.org/advisors.html
