1.  For all of you working with our middle school young people across the conference, A Reminder - We are meeting in Waterville at 5 pm on December 14th.  Bring along a bag supper, the rest will be provided.  All are welcome.  To date we have 16 churches who are taking part in our network.   Mark your calendars today - if you haven't already!!!! According to your RSVP's there should be a great gathering of us.  Bring your calendars, and anything else you would like to share about your program this year!  We will also be planning  a Spring Event - as you would like to see it take shape!

2.  Darren Morgan and Susie Craig look forward to leading you in a Boundary Training Event this Saturday at Union Congregational Church on North St. in Ellsworth Falls from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm.  Join us as we seek to take care of ourselves and our congregations as we learn more about maintaining healthy boundaries.  Call the Conference Office today at 846-5118 and speak to Beth Campbell.  A contribution of $5 will cover your lunch and snack expenses for the day.

3.  Young people graduating from the eighth grade through to graduating from High School are invited to take part in the Regional Youth Event this June 24-27 on the campus of Boston University in Boston, Mass.  Our theme Inside-Out, Outside In, Walking Together in Faith was coined by young people from New England gathered this summer at Synod.  The concept simply stated is that who we are as people of faith inside, affects how we act out our faith in the outside world, and that the events of the outside world also affect who we are as people of faith.  It is a rich journey which we will explore through workshops, mission projects, music, dance, worship and more.  Brochures will become available January 15th.. The cost for this event is $350.  Now is the time to begin planning  for a great time, and thinking about fundraisers that can help you and others to cover costs.  Please contact Susie Craig at the Conference Office if you have further questions.
4.  Prepare the way. Light the way.
Maine Council of Churches is hosting a candlelight vigil for health care reform next Tuesday, December 8 in Portland.
We need a way forward on health care reform. We need a way for all God's children to receive quality, affordable health care. We need a way out of the darkness that allows 123 people to die each day in our country from lack of access to affordable care. We need your voice crying out in the wilderness to remind our state and our Senators of this responsibility we share with one another. This is an urgent message, an urgent time, and we have good news to share.
In the 2nd week of Advent, please help us light the way. Join us Tuesday, December 8 at 4:00 PM in Lobsterman Park in Portland Square, on the corner of Temple and Middle Streets in Portland.
We will pray, sing, light candles, and deliver the message that the way forward to healing for ourselves is healing for all people. We need your voice, and your light. Join us.

5.  FOR     SALE       Allen Organ Protege C-6 and Allen Expander II
In 2001 our small All Souls Universalist Congregation proudly purchased this beautiful piece of musical equipment. Recently in the spring of 2009, our congregation made a tough decision to let go of our building. The good news is we have found respectful owners to take over the building BUT they are not interested in the digital organ.
Thus we are looking to make an interested party very happy!!
Yes, we are selling our Allen ProtegeC-6 and the Allen Expander II (which adds 1000 extra voices).
We know with the economy we can not get any where close to what the digital organ is worth but we want to be respectful to members who worked so hard to raise funds to purchase the organ.
Please call if you have any interest in the organ. I will share with you as much information as I can. We are working toward win win situation!!!   PLEASE spread the word to any interested party!!!

6.  HOW LONG SHALL I GIVE?
“Go break to the needy, sweet charity’s bread;
For Giving is Living,” the angel said.
“And must I be giving again and again?”
My peevish and pitiless answer ran.
“Oh no,” said the angel, piercing me through,
“Just give till the Master stops giving to you.”
